DAIKIN NEXTGEN PROGRAM – THE JOURNEY TO BECOMING AN HVAC EXPERT
(Sharing by Huỳnh Kim Nhật Thanh, final-year student in Thermal Engineering, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – VNU-HCM)

The Daikin NextGen Program is an intensive training program for final-year students and individuals passionate about the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) industry. This is not only an opportunity to gain specialized knowledge but also an important stepping stone for career development in one of the world’s leading air conditioning corporations – Daikin.

As a former participant who has completed the program, I can affirm that this is an incredibly valuable opportunity for anyone wishing to advance in the HVAC field. The program not only helped me strengthen my technical knowledge but also offered unforgettable hands-on experiences, providing a solid foundation for entering a professional work environment.

DAY ONE AT DAIKIN NEXTGEN PROGRAM – THE BEGINNING OF THE JOURNEY

On February 11, 2025, talented candidates of the Daikin NextGen Program officially began their training journey at Daikin Vietnam.

The first day was not only a chance to meet and connect with like-minded teammates but also an opportunity to explore Daikin product knowledge under the guidance of experienced experts in the air conditioning industry.

WEEK 1 – LEARNING ABOUT THE HVAC MARKET & DAIKIN PRODUCTS
The first week started with an introduction to the HVAC market and Daikin’s air conditioning lines (RA, SA, PA, VRV, Chiller). This was an essential session that helped me gain an overview of the industry and understand Daikin’s core products.

In addition, I received training on workplace safety, electrical schematic reading, and hands-on practice with system wiring – a challenging yet incredibly rewarding experience.

WEEK 2 – PRESENTATION SKILLS & INTRODUCTION TO DK BIM
The second week marked the beginning of the soft skills training series with the first session on “Presentation Skills.” This skill helped me become more confident in communication and presenting ideas professionally.

At the same time, I was introduced to DK BIM – Daikin’s most advanced design software for VRV systems, which enhanced my technical thinking and ability to apply theory to real-world scenarios.

WEEK 3 – VRV INSTALLATION PRACTICE AT THE TRAINING CENTER
After two weeks of theory and soft skills, we entered the third week of training with hands-on experience at Daikin’s training center. This was an opportunity to directly engage with machinery, practice installation and system wiring for VRV air conditioners under the dedicated guidance of experts.

I was also trained on real-world systems, including electrical schematics, wiring processes, and AP services. This knowledge truly helped me gain a deeper understanding of the operation and maintenance of industrial air conditioning systems.

WEEK 4 – PLANNING SKILLS & REAL-WORLD PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Week four provided me with valuable lessons on planning and problem-solving skills, teamwork, and the chance to participate directly in an actual project on site.

The site visit helped me recognize the differences between theory and reality. I experienced system installation, problem-solving, and collaboration with engineers and contractors to better understand the implementation process of a professional HVAC system.

PROGRAM CONCLUSION

After completing the program, I feel extremely grateful to Daikin Vietnam for providing such a valuable learning and practical experience. The program not only provided technical knowledge but also helped me develop soft skills, gain career orientation, and become familiar with the professional work environment even before graduation.
