- Tạo điều kiện cho cán bộ giảng dạy tiếp cận thực tế sản xuất, kết hợp lý thuyết với thực hành, góp phần nâng cao chất lượng dạy và học, mang kiến thức phục vụ xã hội.
- Hỗ trợ công tác nghiên cứu của học viên cao học và nghiên cứu sinh. Phòng thí nghiệm sẽ là cơ sở vững chắc cho trường và khoa trong việc nâng cao chất lượng các luận văn thạc sĩ và tiến sĩ của ngành Công nghệ nhiệt cũng như các ngành có quan hệ khác.
- Gắn nhà trường với thực tiễn sản xuất. Hợp tác và hỗ trợ doanh nghiệp trong việc nghiên cứu chế tạo thiết bị trao đổi nhiệt, máy và các thiết bị nhiệt lạnh.
- Thực hiện các dịch vụ đo đạc cho các đơn vị
